A Shot of Presentation Skills
The Next Level Up
This intense 3-day workshop will groom presenters to amplify their delivery, magnify their presence and put a professional polish on the way they carry themselves. They will be trained in the complete package of skills from pronunciation, to voice projection, managing their presentation decks, and being grounded, passionate, confident and at ease.
This workshop is designed to provide plenty of practice sessions and individual attention so that each participant gets to build his or her skills steadily throughout the three days. As every seasoned presenter knows, the only way to improve is through experience. But you can’t afford to make too many mistakes in real presentations. So here’s the perfect training ground for presenters to train and hone their skills before
their next big presentation.
Module 1: Refreshing The Basics
The workshop will begin with a brief refresher on the basic techniques : making eye contact, being audience-focussed, standing and moving with purpose and poise. We will coach each participant to identify their strengths and areas to be improved over the next three days.
Module 2: Pronunciation, Articulation & Voice Projection
A drama coach will train you to pronounce words properly and enunciate them clearly. This makes it easier for the audience to follow your presentation. When the audience is not focusing on trying to understand your words, they can give their full attention to what you are saying. This requires practice as the muscles in your jaw, mouth and tongue will need to be exercised, and maybe even re-programmed.
Module 3: Breathe And Let Your Energy Flow
Pre-presentation nerves are natural but they can cause your chest to constrict and tighten. This restricts your voice and you may find yourself becoming short of breath. In this module, you’ll learn ‘Pranayama’ Breathing Techniques to open up your chest and lungs, and free up your energy and voice. You’ll be surprised at how much richer and resonant your voice can be when your lungs are fully utilized.
Module 4: Engaging Your Audience
You will be guided to develop the ability to hold the audience’s attention, create meaningful interaction and constantly be aware of your audience’s response. This will tell you whether you need to reiterate certain points, provide a more thorough explanation or maybe even stop to ask them some questions.
Module 5: Removing Blocks
Next, you will have the opportunity to identify and reframe some of the beliefs that may be limiting your ability to speak with full confidence and authentic passion. You will be led to understand what is keeping your energy locked up and be guided to release the blocks and experience a more powerful you.
Module 6: Practise Sessions
You will have the opportunity to practice the vocal exercises and pranayama techniques.
Module 7: Passionate Storytelling
Why can some storytellers capture your imagination and touch your heart, while others make you wish you were elsewhere? In the final day of this workshop, you will learn the magical power of storytelling and understand how to connect with your audience at different levels, and move them the way you want them to be moved.
Module 8: Putting It To The Test
You will prepare a presentation deck and deliver a short presentation. This is your final opportunity to apply all that you have learnt and see what an amazing improvement you’ve made.
