A Shot of Communication Skills

What would it be like if you could work with anybody, even those difficult colleagues and clients who seem to be on a completely different wavelength from you? It would save so much time, effort and energy if you could reduce misunderstandings and friction.

You see most people are not intentionally difficult, but just as men are from Mars and women are from Venus, different people live on different behavioural planets. And once you understand their language, you’ll be improving your communication and working relationships in no time.

Module 1 : Understanding the Behavioural Matrix
You will be introduced to the Behavioural Matrix and the characteristics of each quadrant. You will identify your own quadrant, understand your natural style of communication,
and learn how to communicate with people from other quadrants using their preferred communication style so that you understand each other better.
Module 2 : Active Listening
The second half of communication is listening. Research shows that we don’t listen as well we think we do, remembering only 25-50% of what we hear. In this segment you’ll learn how improve communication by understanding and remembering more of what you hear through active listening.
Module 3 : Putting your new learnings to practice
You’ll practice active listening and using the 3 new unfamiliar styles of communication of the other 3 quadrants via a series of role play until these new ways of communication start coming more naturally to you. This way it’ll be easier for you to start using them when you get back to the office.

I understand how to communicate better, the behavioural matrix & my strength & weakness. I enjoyed all the practical part especially during role play to try to convince people in different character. – Phua Jay Quin, Account Executive, Baron Ad

I see the bigger picture of how communication works. Communication is very important for an event to become successful. The behavioural matrix that was shared/ practiced during the training session is an effective tool to help identify the traits of the co-worker that I’m working with. – Damien Choong Jun Wai, Account Executive, Havas Worldwide
